GOFFSTOWN, NH — Two years ago after a fire at the Lemay and Sons Slaughter House burnt the Goffstown facility to the ground, construction has been completed on the new 7,500-square foot facility. Lemay and Sons has operated the slaughterhouse and retail store in the town since 1963.The meat-processing operation moved to an alternate location for two years, while the retail store — which sustained minimal damage in the fire — remained open. Langley Construction, a family-owned and operated general contractor and construction management firm with nearly three decades of experience, completed the project. The new building included specialized refrigeration and extensive cleaning and sanitizing equipment for the meat processing facility. It included a state-of-the-art processing area featuring a conveyor system and an aging cooler capable of holding an impressive 80,000 pounds of aging beef.
